Monte das Marés is idyllicly nestled in a protected nature reserve, offering distant views of the sea. Just a 15-minute drive from Faro Airport, the property is reached via the scenic dirt track road Caminho Vale Grande, winding through a picturesque valley where “Monte” stands higher. Perched at 250 meters above sea level, the property stands amidst a large sprawling 2.5Ha garden filled with ancient olive, almond, and carob trees.

This charming Monte, a traditional Algarvian farmhouse, dates back to 1904. Its characteristic thick, whitewashed stone walls contrast beautifully with the lush greenery surrounding it. The property was thoughtfully restored by Fred, an architect-builder, and Nele, a textile designer, who infused it with their signature minimalist subdued style with the addition of all contemporary comforts.

Monte das Marés comprises two independent houses, Maré Alta and Maré Baixa. Inside, the spaces strike a perfect balance between old and new, raw, modern, elegant, and comfortable.
